How to break into VC world by becoming a scout

Hello everyone,

If you are not familiar with VC scouts, they are basically entrepreneurs and startup operators that works with VC firms to create more dealflow opportunities.

Why it's a hot trend:

VC landscape is booming especially with the rise of micro-funds. It's harder to get founders attention when you are competing with hundreds of other funds.

Why every VC will have a scout program:

Scouts being entrepreneurs and operators, they are well positioned to get the attention of their peers. It's easier for scouts to generate deal flow.

Examples of famous scout programs:

Indie.vc, Sequoia, Spearhead

How it works:

Most scout programs are based on a freelance-like business model, although some exceptions exists. Basically you are paid a referral fee whenever you make an intro to the VC firm.
