How to build a community around a not so sexy topic? :/
I am looking for adivices about building a community around topics that people really dont enjoy to talk about: i.e. payment providers, taxes etc..
People need solutions for this topics and they usually search for that , but they d not really agregate.. they dont spent more time then needed on this...
Any advice? How would you handle this challenge?
I think your best bet would be to approach this the same way Redbull does.
Their community is not built around energy drinks, instead extreme sports and a few other things.
It's what they stand for.
If you are trying to build a community around payment providers, focus on things like helping developers integrate with these providers, talking about entrepreneurship etc. These topics are extremely popular and tie in perfectly with either taxes or payment providers, technology, passive income, e-commerce etc..
The focus should probably not be too heavily on, for instance, tax itself, but rather education about business, self-employment, ideas, what the future looks like, things to keep in mind when freelancing, showcases of how entrepreneurs are building online businesses, podcasts with founders and how they solve things etc etc...

Hmmm, why do you need to have a community around these topics?
I don't have an audience and I would like to have knowledge transfer and feedback from a community (or someone!) before start to code anything ..
runnig out of ideas..
Starting a community vs finding people with problems you'd like to learn about is the difference between building a house and walking under a tree to get away from the rain.
This is a community that can give feedback, and it is experimenting with solutions around 'problems.'
so... maybe there already is a community; and you can find them (here or anywhere) by asking interesting questions about the problem space you're in; they'll decide if it's sexy or not.
