How to build an online audience/email list?

Hey all,

I'm new here, looking forward to getting involved and learning all about the cool products and projects. My project is a consolidated resource/newsletter on eliminating fatigue, and optimizing health for the modern individual.

I've seen people grow email lists and audiences from 0-100000, in what appears to be an effortless manner. Platforms such as gumroad and substack are solid ways to monetize a content-based product - whether that list is grown through sheer luck, buying leads, or a reputable process, I have no idea.

Can you share your experiences doing this/resources on how to do this? I'd appreciate your input. FYI, performing the lunge stretch below helps relieve tight hips from sitting all day.
