Hey guys, want some advice on podcast promotion. We recently launched our e-commerce podcast and went with the default website from Simplecast. The site looks good but it's not optimized for SEO so most of our listens come from our social media promotion.
Is SEO friendliness something you worry about? If so, what do you do about it?
Usually the mini-sites coming from the podcast hosts (like the Simplecast website you're using) are not fully optimized for SEO.
For podcasting, not only you'd want to have all the regular SEO best practices implemented in the site, but you'll also need to follow podcast-specific SEO guidelines mentioned by Google - https://support.google.com/podcast-publishers/answer/9476656
Additionally, there are things like Open Graph compatibility (for sharing on social media), properly implementing your episode titles, description, image alt tags and so on across the entire site, and more.
I actually just launched a website builder for podcasters that includes everything you need for a full podcast websites, both podcast-related features, and also features around SEO optimization, page speed and more.

Do you add any extra content to the sites?
Do you have transcripts?
Have you tested the page speed https://developers.google.com/speed/pagespeed/insights/ ?
