How to build and launch a SaaS in 30 days

Hi all!

Since I launched Typehut I've wanted to sit down and write about the entire process I followed from idea to launch. It has taken me a bit more time than I expected, as I'm not used to writing articles like this one, but it's something I definitely want to keep doing.

My goal with the article is to help other indie hackers who might be struggling with some stage of building and launching a product. I included things like how I do naming and branding, UI design, development, etc. So, if you're working on a product and don't know how to approach one of those things, it might be useful to you.

I just finished the article and published it, you can find it here:

If you have questions or feedback let me know!

Very cool product and blog post, but I don't agree on something.

You wrote that you consider - WordPress, Jekyll and Gatsby to be overhead solutions? I don't understand why.

If all I want is just a changelog or a simple blog, they are perfect for this.

      Thank you!

I think both WordPress and Jekyll/Gatsby cause overhead in different ways.

In the case of WordPress, their feature-bloating really pushed me away. I felt like if I wanted a simple changelog I would've had to go through a lot of configuration or template-choosing to remove the things I didn't need in order to just get started.

And in the case of static site generators like those I mentioned, setting everything up and deploying is a bit of a pain if you're not a developer. Not very user-friendly.

With Typehut I opted for the Tumblr approach. Everything's ready for you to start posting in a matter of seconds. Default sites are completely un-opinionated and if you want to add stuff to them you can do that later.

Love the minimalistic design and simplicity. Good learning points from the blog post :)

@cesar typehut seems to be down?

Hmm works for me and I don't see issues in my logs. Were you getting any specific error message?

My bad. It was my connection blocking typehut 👍
