How to collect user feedback?

I'm looking for a way to collect organized user feedback for my new mobile app (Android and iOS). I need some kind of service to collect feature requests and let the users upvote them.
I had a look at some services already, but most of them are too expensive as I'm just trying to get it going with my app. I won't pay 50 usd per month for such a feature at the moment, so I'm looking for something else. I would pay at max 10 usd to get started. When I see that it's working for my app, I would be happy to upgrade to higher plan if necessary and available.
I already stumbled upon https://hellonext.co which looks really nice, but I don't know how long their beta will run and after that they will charge 25 usd, which is quite expensive.
Some one already suggested me http://www.phpback.org/ , but I don't like the idea of self-hosting.
I would really appreciate any kind of suggestion!

If you're not willing to pay a premium, why not just create a basic (but nice looking) send feedback menu item and screen in your apps and then improve this later after initial feedback or move to the organised solution you have mentioned?
You could also remind the user at certain points of app use. The screen would pre-validate the response by requiring a minimum of 10-20 characters written (filtering out spammers), you can then just launch the user's email app with to field populated with your feedback email, subject of "Feedback for your app" and the body will contain the user's feedback plus use additional info (optional but useful).
Entirely up to you how you customise it, but just getting basic email feedback is going to be tricky enough. Or you could just write your own quick REST endpoint. If it seems like too much work, then I think the paid solutions are the only other alternative.
Armin, thanks a lot for your detailed response. That's already how I collect those data currently. But there is one point missing, that I'm really looking for to improve: let the users upvote common feature requests. That's not possible via mail.
So I started to have a look at nolt.io, but I'm not sure if I will go with that. At least it looks not ugly and it works. But the more I play with, the more I think about a solution that will fit seemingly with my app. So probably I need to build something on my own, tailored for my needs.
@svzi that's great. Do you have many active users who you could tap into to be able to ask them to vote on features? If so, it will definitely simplify the process. For my app, the users who wanted features either left feedback in form of review or emailed me, but I had to manually collate the feedback in a spreadsheet. As another suggestion I have seen people use GitHub to create empty projects and vote on issues, not sure how consumer friendly this is though. I think Trello might also have a vote feature - good luck!
@armin you made a very good point here. Everything that is able to simplify the process for users to give feedback and/or upvote features, is really, really important.
Users usually don't want to open something external, like a public Trello board, or something similar. Maybe they even need to register to post a feature request or make an upvote. From a users perspective I can truly understand the resistance. I wouldn't do that as well.
The more I think about, the more I'm convinced that I need to take care of that on my own. Sooner or later.
