How to efficiently & legally let my potential customers know my product?

Hi folks,

I have a product which will serve auto body shop businesses. I can use yelp fusion API to download all those businesses' data from which I can know their business phone number.

I was thinking to broadcast marketing ads as SMS to their phones, but according to https://www.consumer.ftc.gov/articles/0350-text-message-spam, it is illegal to spam text messages.

I don't have their emails, now it seems like the only way left is to make cold call to each of them.

Is there any better, more efficient way to let them know my product?

    I think a cold call sounds great for that type of business – other than actually showing up on their doorstep of course.

    Study some sales principles first. The worst thing you could do is call them and try to pitch your software right away, but if you can get someone to pick up (which seems likely) you can find out whether this is a pain point for them, figure out who to talk to, then pull the trigger.

    Nothing efficient about it, but gets you your first users.

      Thank you for your valuable advices!!! Cold call seems to be the best way to pitch our product, also I may have more insights on what's the pain point from our customer so that we can make our product a better fit.

    Hey, personally I believe that B2B email marketing is still the most efficient method if done right. Calling just takes too much time and people I know are so sick and tired of robot calls they don't even pick up calls from unfamiliar numbers.

    I use a B2B lead gen tool to find my prospects. It gives out mail Id's, contact number and LI profile.

    If this is your first time reaching out to prospects for this product, don’t worry about efficiency and scale. Grind it out and adapt your messaging to figure out what resonates. For early stage products, bespoke messaging goes a long way.

    Once you start to get some traction, then look for efficiency and scale using the things you learned that resonate.

      Thanks Yash. You are right, we should not consider scale, instead do something not scale in the very beginning. It's always bitter first and sweet later.

    Did they already pass the robocall laws? :Evilgrin:

    You can snail mail them, that doesn't have a spam law.

    You can try to find a publication or a show they might attend.
    Or try to get some vendor to resell.
    Or go talk to the groups of several places.

    Or run ads on their Facebook pages in some format..

    Message owners on LinkedIn and/or Facebook

    Find other related entitie that make relate to a few of them.. maybe some account firm that specialises or something?
