How to explain what your web3 product does and convince users to try it [Builder’s guide I've been working on for months]

I am friends with many crypto builders, and I've found that it's often hard for them to explain what their products actually do and why I should care.

So a few months ago, I started my mini-project to help them.

I wanted to understand the nature of the problem, so I’ve talked with 100+ web3 founders about their projects. I talked with some of them as part of running my builders-oriented podcast Web3 Talks, and most of them through casual conversations on conferences, Discord, and Twitter.

If someone explained their project clearly, I tried to reverse-engineer what they did to understand the method behind the good explanation. If someone struggled to tell me what their product does, I tried to understand what mistakes they make.

During my project, it turned out that many founders don't know good role models - projects that explain complicated technical products in a simple way. So I went through top crypto projects such as Zapper, DuneAnalytics, Arweave, Royal, Ledger & many more to find the best examples in the space.

To make these examples easier to understand, I created alternative versions of these projects' websites to show how they'd look if they were made badly. And compared the BAD one with the GOOD one.

I organized the whole guide around 5 simple rules:
#1: Make them care.
#2: Make it easy to understand
#3: Show why your product can solve their problems
#4: Help them believe you will deliver on your promises
#5: Convince them to try it now

It's v. long (50 pages) and full of images, so I can't post it here. But here's the link:

Would be happy to learn if you find it useful :)
