These are specific users to whom we provide our service, in our case it is users looking for flatmates and flats. Our goal, by March, is to service 200 users keeping an NPS of >8.5. Currently, we are on 25 with an NPS of 7.8.
This is just our following on Insta, TikTok, YT, Discord, and other platforms. Our next goal is to reach 10k followers on Insta and TikTok by the end of Q2'24.
This is my favourite one. Sharing your journey is incredibly helpful; you help people. People give you insights, and you find some amazing individuals to connect with.
In the beginning, this was completely uncharted territory for us.
We started by manually recruiting users from similar platforms to ours. Reaching out to them individually, we found that users were quite eager to switch and give our platform a try! So that was a W :) ✔️
Collabing with Facebook groups has been the most successful approach yet. Many people in the UK find housing and flatmates on FB groups, even more so than on current apps. After messaging over 500 groups, we managed to stumble upon a very cooperative admin.
They loved our idea, and since they were the only admin in their FB group with 90,000 followers, they let us help manage it!
This was a total WIN. No money was spent, and we managed to get our foot in the door of a 90k FB group. 🏆
Sidenote:
A specific GTM which worked for our idea was to partner with student accoms around the UK. We approached them, offering help in managing student allocations. This proved useful in places like Durham, Sussex, etc., where, in some cases, a group of 6 students shares one kitchen.
One word:
TikTok favours quick, short call-to-action videos. After However, we noticed the conversion rate to be much lower. Even when users did go to our site they would instantly go back to TikTok, unlike on Insta and Reddit.
Instagram & YT users take you more seriously.
A suggestion for any video 😁
Have a good hook. Instead of just diving in, engage your audience right from the start. Create an ideal persona of your viewer and do some homework on what gets their attention.
I've seen many of these videos take off, especially when you provide valuable information to your audience. A catchy hook that grabs your audience's attention in the first 4 seconds is crucial. Why are they watching? Questioning your viewers at the start of the video defo grabs their attention.
I'm sure you all know, making killer content is one thing, but getting it out there for the world to see? That's a whole different ball game... 🤔
So, I decided to do a bit of homework. Here are the top free distribution channels for your content:

Medium readers love top-notch content: how-to guides, opinions, and personal stories are particularly successful.
Shorter posts of 500-800 words work best, especially for B2B outreach. Not that great for B2C...

Reddit is one of my fav spots to share articles. But watch out—each subreddit has its own rules, so self-promotion can backfire and get you banned❗.
Instead, join the community, talk & comment in your niche, and build trust. Then, when you share your content, skip the direct links. Just point people to your Reddit bio for more info, where they'll find links to your site, blog, and articles.
