How to find a name?

What is your process in finding a good name for your webpage/product?
Do you choose a name which is related to the specific product, or do you choose just a random name?

Do you choose a name which is related to the specific product, or do you choose just a random name?
I quite often use a portmanteau of various words to create a name. That way you get a unique name and it kind of means something related to your product.
And how is the process of creating such a word? At the moment I am looking for a company name.
I want to create a Plattform, and offer some Software solutions.. Any idea for a name? :D
So sometimes what I do is pick some words which describe what the product does. Then mix them together. For example if you had a video streaming product you could have the words
Video Streaming - and the product name would be Vistr
That's a bit of a bad example but you get the idea hopefully :)
