How to find a Technical Mechanical Engineer?

With software and web technologies, I feel like there are many different communities where you can meet other founders with technical coding abilities, but I can't seem to find places to meet someone who has a background in building physical/hardware projects (and is willing to jump into a startup).

Any suggestions of where to look or how to find/meet said person?

P.S. I am a technical software founder
