How to find your super specific users

You want users who love your product, and will tell their friends. Targeting a narrow niche to start can help you find these users.

To help you identify your own super-specific who, start by taking your best guess at the following questions:

  1. Who are three real people you know who will be exceptionally excited about what you’re building? What do they have in common? We want real names here. If you can't name any, go meet some, or build something else.

  2. Of your existing users (if you have any), who are happiest and most committed? What do they have in common? Daily active users. Weekly active. Most comments. Most core actions completed.

  3. Who do you know whose life will become instantly better once they use your product? Real names. Or if you can't do that, specific users. (35 year olds, who have an iPhone, own a dog, live in the suburbs etc)

  4. Who do you know whose life will become instantly less painful?

  5. Who’s asking to pay for this product? Are people asking to pay? Do they want more features, more usage, more of what?

I'm at point #1. Should I keep reading or should I go meet new people.

Great questions really, I'm not sure about the users, let alone the super ones. Looks like a good starting point.
