I launched two MVP websites about two weeks ago, and am wondering if there is a playbook out there for getting initial traffic?
Whether it’s through SEO, sharing in communities, etc — what are the top X steps to take once launching a website?
Hey @jonathanlopez 👋
I'd say that any 'playbook' really depends on:
A company with a large budget (or any kind of budget, for that matter) for PPC can approach things differently than a company with no money for that.
A company targeting marketing leaders and CEOs will have a very different community target than a company targeting recent mothers with their fitness goals.
A company looking to book demo calls will have a different approach than a company looking for emails for newsletter sign ups or lead magnet downloads.
You'd need to provide more information on your budget, your audience and your goals before anyone can give any real meaningful advice. 🙌
SEO takes time and generally the playbook is to leverage an existing audience e.g. twitter / linkedin / etc.
if you don't have an existing audience, i'd figure out where your target audience spends most of their time and get active there as much as possible - actively reaching out to leaders in the space and contributing as much value as possible
you could also buy traffic if you have a budget
I write about these things at Micro SaaS HQ and I also run FounderBeats that covers some of these topics. These resources will be good starting pointers.
