How to get 768 new customers for your Shopify app

🚀 Free ways to advertise your app on Shopify

I've been looking for free ways to advertise my Shopify product Ampd - Supercharge your Shopify store on Google Ads and one of the most effective ways to do this on the Shopify app store is with the Staff Pick of the Week. I've been staff pick of the week and it's generated 768 new customers for my app with 210 entering the payment funnel:

  • 210 downloads entered payment funnel (29%)

The Staff Pick of the Week is the section at the top of the page that promotes your app for an entire week. It looks like this in the app store:

🔥 Step by step guide on how to get your app featured:

  1. You need to have at least 10, 5-star reviews on your app. The Shopify app staff want to see social proof that your app is providing value.

  2. I've found that having an app that is currently generating revenue incentivizes the Shopify app team to promote your app since they receive a 20% cut of all revenue through the app store.

  3. Contact the Shopify App team directly and asked to get featured in the next 3 months. They currently schedule staff picks 3 months in advance, so you will want to time it right. For example, a great time to get promoted is in March / April or heading into the busy holiday season of Q4.
