How to get a sixpack as an Indie Hacker?

Hello IHs!

Anyone has experience in training and dieting himself into a sixpack while hustling on his business? Any recommendations for stories, communities or people who can help?

I'm looking to stay healthy and fit while also freelancing, building side-projects and taking care of my wife and daughter.

I think I'm in pretty good shape already
For 2023 I have set out a new objective:

A sixpack

After trying for a while, I realise I need better examples, inspirational stories and probably mentors or coaches to achieve this.

I'm asking in this community because I want to learn from people in a similar situation, not a fitness guru who spends all day in the gym.

Thanks for your help!

I do have experience in training and dieting myself into a sixpack while hustling on my business.

Not sure would my experience be of any use to you. It does require certain investment of time. Or perhaps even a lifestyle change. Though the recipe is quite simple.

Long distance swimming. I started with 600m and eventually I was doing 2500m a day. Add each day one sequence of pull-ups (as much as you can) and one yoga session.

Regarding the food, throw away all the junk (bread and pasta too if they are not wholegrains) and replace it with legumes. They're healthy, easy to prepare, can be tasty, can be eaten cold and they are cheap.

    That would be it! 😀

Thanks for the advice! My diet is more or less as you describe, mostly veggies, though also fruits. How do you deal with hunger, and feeling low energy, if you experienced this? And did you abandon dairy as well?

I do a 20 min workout every morning, but a 2500m swim + yoga won’t combine with spouse + child at the moment.

I didn't abandon dairy, especially not low fat cheese that is high in protein. I don't feel low energy until the end of a day. I put tasks that require focus (energy) early in a day. So by the end, I am 'switching off' naturally. Plus a good night's sleep.

Dealing with hunger - I do eat decent quantities. But, if you want to trick your stomach - drink more water. That guy will think it's full anyway.

True, having abs means melting away what's covering them.

Add a 'plank' exercise to your workout, out even in breaks during the day.

          Noted on the plank exercise!!
