How to get AWS/GCP/Azure credits as a bootstrapped company?

I found this list of resources which basically gives startups free credits that lets them build out their product: https://github.com/dakshshah96/awesome-startup-credits#cloud-computing

However, people like us seem to be left in the cold:

I’m a consultancy or small business. Can I apply for this program?

The qualified offer is designed to help companies that are focused on growth, so it’s less applicable for consultancies and small businesses. If you are a small business or consultancy you can get started with a free trial.

Currently I'm paying around $250/mo on GCP bills, and I don't understand why we can't have similar deals. Any ideas?

GCP for Startups says in most places that you have to go through a VC. But I was able to find a link on their page directly to the sign-up page. They gave me $3K for the first year and then another $17K this year.

I don't know if it still works or not, but here is the direct link to sign up: https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSdQA6e4pwgUcUwclExg_oZrJLTcD6nGexQsDah5pApQ_jMnpQ/viewform?entry.1883355747=30359

I've also received credits from MongoDB Atlas and Segment. Those ones are easier, though.

I'll brush up the landing page and will then apply. Thanks!

AWS Activate just expanded its startup credit program to include bootstrapped founders recently. I have no direct experience with it personally, but I thought it was a cool move on AWS part. It’s $1000 of credits that are valid for 2 years.

      Thanks for the tip!

Once we went through Stripe Atlas, we were able to get into several programs:

    • AWS Activate - $5k AWS credit
    • Google Cloud for Startups - $20k in GCP credit (and some extra ones that could be redeemed like Google Maps, G Suite, etc)
    • Segment Startup Program - discounts to several services (list of them here)

There were a few hiccups every now and then (i.e. some of these programs couldn't verify that we existed since we don't have funding, but looping in Atlas support helps clarify it), but overall well worth the effort.

I second this. That's how we got our hosting credits for a good year.
