How to get Excel financial model for SaaS startup in 5 min

We have noticed that SaaS startups founders spend too much time trying to make financial projections and we are here to help!

What is the solution?

We have created Financial model generator that asks questions as normal person and then uses these assumptions to generate simple financial model to evaluate how much such a business could cost in 3-5 years from now. You could download this model in Excel and play with assumptions to see how your company value changes.

Financial model demo

Simple SaaS startup financial model to evaluate your idea

Key assumptions:

– forecast period (e.g. 36 months)
– starting number of users (e.g. 20 paying customers now)
– grows rate of paying user base (e.g. 20% per month)
– churn rate of paying users (e.g. 3% per month)
– average subscription price (e.g. $19 per month)
– valuation multiple to revenue (let's start from 10x 😀)

Key outputs:

– number of paying users by the end of month
– revenue per month
– company value based on revenue multiple (potential exit price for founders and investors)

How to get the model?

You answer questions in Typeform and get your Excel financial model. In 5 minutes. Yeah, a kind of magic, don't need to spend hours in spreadsheets.

For whom is this?

– Indie Hackers who think about their idea but don't know how to start

Feedback?

More than appreciated! Would love to hear what to add to this model template or create some service/feature to save your time!

Cool concept — the Typeform-to-Excel pipeline is a clever way to lower the barrier. One thing I've found is that founders who are past the "evaluating my idea" stage need something more operational: not just projections, but a live dashboard they update monthly with actual numbers. I built a SaaS Metrics Dashboard in Excel that auto-calculates 25+ KPIs (MRR, ARR, churn, LTV, CAC, burn rate, runway, gross margin, ARPU, etc.) from basic monthly inputs. 360 formulas, works in Google Sheets, zero errors. There's also a companion Runway Planner with 24-month dynamic cash flow projections and a Fundraising CRM for investor pipeline tracking. The whole set is called "SaaS Starter Toolkit" on Gumroad. Your tool seems great for the idea validation stage — these templates pick up where that leaves off once you're actually operating.

This one should be very handy for new business owners. getting all details in excel with options to make modifications, this will be a great time saver. Thanks in advance.
