How to get my first users on my new APP for Gamers?

Hi guys,

I recently launched my new app for Gamers: https://progamer.app and I've been struggling to get my first users to at least test some of my features. The idea of this app is for gamers find other gamers to play with, create a match with some pool entry fee and the winner receive the final prize. However, when I receive new users, there is no other gamers waiting for opponents and so they. uninstall the app.

I already played by myself with some users, but I have to let the new users find their matches organically (without playing with me 😄).

I already have some ideas in mind to start developing:

  • Create tournaments on the app, so they can register and wait for other players
  • Send a push to the users that registered a game account in a specific game, everytime a new match of that game is waiting for an opponent
  • and of course, start paying for some ads

I will appreciate some ideas from you, I'm a software engineer and this is my first time that I have to manage the external things of a software product, I'm a bit lost at the moment.

Thank you in advance,
