How to get started?
I'm a solo full-stack dev with experience in publishing web apps and mobile apps. I have no experience in managing or developing e-commerce sites.
How can I get started with Shopify app development?
Can you point me to a tutorial?
What do I need to know to check if an idea is good enough?
Do you have any external group where you hang out (Slack / Facebook group / other) ?
I want to move away from mobile app dev into something more profitable maybe 🤔

"What do I need to know to check if an idea is good enough?"
I don't invest into an idea that doesn't already have paying customers. For example, if I were to develop a Shopify app, I would do heavy research into profitable apps, pick one that fits my domain experience and start building. I'd then get an MVP out ASAP, market it as best I could to relevant communities and platforms, obtain feedback and (hopefully) get enough initial traction to motivate me to continue.
What I would not do is spend months and months trying to evaluate random ideas that haven't even been monetised in the past.
This challenge of evaluation is the million dollar question so don't expect any silver bullets. It's a laborious process of research, development, iteration and experimentation without any guarantees.

I developed my 1st Shopify app 4 years ago. Just released my 2nd app in April 2021.
I recommend just getting started after doing the basic googling.
Best to ask specific questions if stuck.
