How to get to the first page of Google in 2 years

You mean 2 years to rank page 1 for your head terms, correct? I'm sure you had plenty of long tail keywords ranking much quicker than that.

Focusing on those long tail keywords will help your main target keywords rank a lot faster as well. It will help establish topical authority & the internal links help a bit too. Not too mention those less competitive posts will get traffic a lot quicker!

Just wanted to share this article that I wrote for a friend's blog about how I got to the first page of Google after two long years.

Two years might not seem super exciting but I do believe it's a realistic amount of time to start ranking on Google.

Here is a super quick summary of the article:

• Don't target super popular keywords: In our case, we targeted personal crm, and not crm
• Ask your customers what they typed in Google to find you (really do ask!)
• Write reviews & articles about your competitors to hijack their traffic
• Don't only do text, try images and videos as well.
