How to grow your waitlist from zero?

Hi Cam! I had to do this for Writtio. We're prelaunch and we've got about 400 people on the waitlist now. Back in November we had zero. Here are some things you can do to attract people to your waitlist:

• write articles on medium and have a call-to-action at the bottom linking to your landing page. The idea here is to write about stuff that would be super helpful for your idea customer. Promote your articles on Twitter (not paid ads, just tweet the out) using good hashtags.
• Contribute a bunch on forums and communities like Indie Hackers, reddit and Product Hunt. Get known in these community for being helpful (again regarding the stuff your ideal customer would want to know). Once in a while organically drop your link when you think it would truly benefit someone.
• Tweet tweet tweet. If you don't have a twitter account, get yourself one and become super active on Twitter. Follow relevant people, join chats, comment. Make sure to put your link on your bio and whenever you find someone asking a question that your program can answer, drop your link.
• Make youtube tutorials. Lots of Youtube tutorials. Straight forward.
• Reach out to bloggers who write about your area of expertise and tell them your story, tell them what techtutors is all about and give them an offer to give their readers. This takes time and dedication, but if you land 2-3 good blogs, usually it results a good number of sign ups.
