Hello there everyone,
Just wanted to see what your advice is on upgrading free plan users to paid plans.
I've increased my app installation rate significantly, but with the new influx of users, my upgrade rate has gone down.
I've also added a new feature which has cut my uninstall rate in half, but it has also made upgrading to a paid plan less valuable.
What are the recommended actions to increase free users to paid users? I can provide more information upon request.
Its hard to say based on the information you have but I would say its not abnormal that once you get a higher traction of users the paid rate might go down. (The earlier users might have had an artificially higher conversion rate because they were more tenacious in chasing down your product becuase they needed it to solve some problem to a higher extent than the newer users.)
the best way to increase user count and conversion rate, is to have a really compelling free version of the product to bait them in, and then have a really compelling (but cost effective) paid feature(s) that bait them into paying for them. its a delicate balance, because if you remove features that were free and move them to paid, they could get pissed and dip, if you make paid too expensive they wont convert, if your free verison sucks, they wont stay to explore and maybe convert.
What’s your conversion rate?
What does the app do?
What are the added features that users get for paying? Do you offer a trial of those features?
What’s the new feature that has cut uninstall?
What are the main features your users are using (non-paid and paid)?
