How to launch on Product Hunt and get honest results

https://krock.io/blog/your-projects-made-in-krock/how-to-launch-on-product-hunt-and-get-honest-results/

Last week we launched Krock.io on Product Hunt. I read plenty of articles on how to launch. For the most part, they are similar. But in my article, I want to uncover the exact steps you need to take for a successful launch without shady methods of getting upvotes.

Nice write-up! Covered so many bases here. I'll add these tips as well:

    1. Launch your product more than once. You can launch the same product every six months on PH as long as you've made significant updates. Check this article out by @IndieJames for more places to relaunch
    2. Amplify your launch by working with a popular hunter on Product Hunt
    3. Get more upvotes by embedding the PH badge
    4. Leverage PH's "Ship" service to get new subscribers and users

A lot of sources mention it's not necessary to launch with hunter. I recommend instead following people on the product hunt.

In the WBE Space 5 of our members have successfully launched on PH recently and the most important factor has been having a big enough twitter audience

Yeah, I mentioned this in the article with a few other tips on how to get more from Twitter.

Ugh. No way! I can't imagine sinking THAT much effort into launching Headlamp on Product Hunt. It's probably not going to address my target market anyway.

I'll probably end up tossing it in like a grenade and seeing what happens! :P

How about a counter-example? Has anyone here had any luck putting zero effort into their ProductHunt launch?

Yes, I've read such a story. The guy scheduled the launch and forgot about the start day. He noticed a few hours after the launch. 😁

Glad to hear this was successful for you! Was curious about if any of these steps went in a different direction than you expected? Any surprising learnings from this?

I've honestly been pretty bummed out with PH in the last year or so. I feel like there's so much spam. This thread provides a lot of good background on what I'm talking about https://news.ycombinator.com/item?id=31099836

Great thread; thanks for sharing. I had the same feelings about the product hunt. That is why I decided to launch, honestly, to train my skills. For me, Everything went as Planned. I prepared premade step-by-step schedule, and the whole day was busy implementing it.
