How to market a local app?

I made an app that's very local to my area, it's a ferry schedule app for coastal BC. I'm working on an android one, then creating another one for coastal washington.

It's done alright just through app store search, and in posting about it in local subreddits it got picked up by the local news which provided a huge increase in downloads, but I'm stuck on where to go next.

Has anyone else had experience marketing to a local audience, and what did you do?
