How to Niche down for B2B? Focus 30% Budget Towards Account-Based Marketing

A year ago I was reading on Indie Hackers about niching down. It was always in the back of my head. About 2 months ago I joined Intandemly, and we are head-on promoting Account-Based Marketing.

Now I understand, ABM is like Niching down, but for B2B companies!

Let me explain

Account-based marketing is not for everyone since it has a lot of benefits as well as drawbacks. However, depending on the size of your corporation, you may decide to not go ahead with ABM because the drawback cast a huge shadow over its benefits. While on the other end of this spectrum, you may feel benefits will outweigh the drawbacks.

In such a case, you have to understand the intrinsic components of Account-based marketing. This article and the video attached (towards the end) will help strengthen your understanding of Account-based marketing.

Why 30%?

As the title suggests, starting out your organisation should focus only about 30% of its time and resources towards ABM. This is due to the fact, the closing of a deal through ABM is a time-consuming process. Which mean if you plan to score all your company’s forecasted leads through ABM strategies, you might have insufficient cash flow.

To tackle this issue, most experts companies to devote less than half of their sales and marketing efforts into ABM.

It is also advised for organisations to involve the upper management like CEO and Finance Directors in the decision making the process.

I have written in much more detail, you can read it using the link below.
