How to not fall into Engineering Trap?

Few months back I started working on a side project https://dmbird.app which I plan to complete in two weeks but it's stretched to three months. In the end I do have MVP but I always on the urge to rewrite what I have with different structure and algorithms.

I'm no marketer and I still wanted to learn marking and push my product to beyond my reach first.

I recently come across this "Engineering Trap" word and the more I researched into it more it make sense in therms of the engineering and marking side. One of the solution they propose was build the feature after only your customer asked. I agree to that point and what are the other solutions like that?
