How to organically increase subscribers with very few promotion channels

Hey all,

I recently started an italian weekly newsletter which can be considered as a mix of The Hustle, Marketing Examples and TheClikk.

I'm using EmailOctopus (which is amazing) and a simple landing Wordpress landing page. I post the main section of the newsletter also on my blog, on Medium and, in different formats, on Twitter and Instagram.

The problem is that here in Italy we have little to none channels to get traction for a niche product like this.

  • No Product Hunt
  • No Hacker News
  • No targeted subreddit
  • No Indie Hackers
  • No other similar newsletters I can crosspromote with

Facebook Groups are off-limits. Even If you put in the effort and give a lot of value, just share a link and you are regarded like a fuckin spammer.
For the last 2 weeks I posted quality content and a picture with a tiny watermark of my website.
Lots of likes and comments, but needless to say that no one actually searched for it and subscribed.

Twitter, same.
You put the value, but no one retweet or follows (I have very few followers actually).

I did some Facebook Lead Ads recently and got leads for under ~0,70€ which is pretty good I think, and open rate is above 40%.

I'm writing this, since I'd love If you'd suggest me other unexplored and creative organic ways I can try to grow my subscriber base.

What am I missing? I just have to grind and keep going?

TY!
Antonio

If a market is too fragmented or expensive to reach, then it's not a good market.

That said, maybe you can find conferences or in-person meetups if there aren't many online forums for your target audience?

Where do the people you are trying to reach hang out online?

For Facebook, make sure your profile is a kind of funnel. So it’s easy for someone to go look at your profile and see exactly what you do and the website.

Are there opportunities to create and share content from your site in the groups? I know that’s difficult in many groups.

For Twitter, can you write threads with a summary of your emails and tag people in where you’re curating their content or reinforcing a point. They might appreciate the mention and retweet.

What about guest posting opportunities? Create content for other publications to get a link to your site (not just for SEO but a genuine call to action)

Speaking of SEO, thinking longer term, can you compete in google for keywords and drive some traffic that way?

Oh, and I forgot to mention that here in Italy we don't have any internet directory either where I can post my newsletter
