How to price your product?

I am building the subscription plans for my product https://www.mapmelon.com.

In the app, users can look for accommodations (colivings), so our plan is to charge them to appear in the app and edit their details, get notifications from customers, etc

We are thinking on adding 2 plans, one basic and a pro one with more features.

What is the best way to come up with a price for your product?

How did you choose the price of your plans?

Have built 2 SaaS products, 1 Paid Newsletter, 1 Paid Community, 1 Paid Info product. My suggestion would be to experiment and find a sweet spot.

    • For Info products, start low and increase the price as you make sales (experiment by creating more tiers also)
    • For Communities, I would suggest to go with yearly prices.
    • For Newsletters, Quarterly/yearly would work.
    • For SaaS, in the initial stages go with LTDs and then eventually find your sweet spot.

In your case for MapMelon, I think people have more fun when they use it long term, drive them to pay for yearly subscription. May be $9/m but $49/yr. Or $19/m but $99/yr.

Hey @upenv, thanks for the above, it was really really helpful 😄

I may not have been clear enough on the description, so I will update it. In the app, users can look for accommodations (colivings), so our plan is to charge them to appear in the app and edit their details, get notifications from customers, etc

We are thinking on adding 2 plans, one basic and a pro one with more features.

I guess it is still a SaaS for them 🤔

My suggestion for iOS apps is don't shy away from weekly pricing. It is fairly common to see the sentiment on reddit that all weekly subscriptions are scams. Don't listen to them.

It skyrocketed sales for my apps. Customers like that its so cheap. Yes the high churn is something to worry about, but it is still worth it for me so far. I also offer yearly and lifetime, but weekly is by far the most common.

Like anything, you need to test that for yourself, but it's certainly working well for me.

Thanks @jordansamz I didn't considered weekly ones. Will take them into account too 😄

I hope you will support your product long enough after development. New updates that are automatically installed on the phone may stop the application from working. If the application contained important data or reminders, this could create big problems for the client. I hope you are doing great with these)
