How to promote a command line application?
I am building a command line application to solve a personal itch. I feel it will benefit the developer community. I just dont know how to promote it.

Out of personal interest: Is it free (open-source?) or a paid one?
On both cases the way is basically the same as with any other product: Write about it and tell the world.
Make a landing page, setup a Github repo with a nice README, blog about it, tweet, go to the forums where the developer target audience is and write a post there.
Thanks for replying. Its an open source developer productivty tool. Thank you for the tips. I guess I will be posting the cli reddit thread and hackernews maybe. What are your thoughts on launching it on ProductHunt?
I have never launched on producthunt myself, so no thoughts on that :)
