How to promote your blog!!??
What is the most effective way you used to promote your blog? Which promotional practice would you recommend to upcoming book bloggers like myself?
*I am making a new blog post and some answers would be featured in it that is if you don't mind. Don't worry, I will link back to your site or indiehacker profile.
Most traffic I've gotten for sports blogs is probably from Facebook groups. People love to argue on FB. Twitter can be good if you get some retweets. IG not as much unless you're DMing people directly.
This is a tough one. The blog articles I've had the most success with were picked up by some big names on Twitter who re-tweeted the articles. A lot of my current traffic comes from organic Google searches.
Depending on what community you're trying to target, I think there might be value trying to engage with that community in whatever platform they find themselves (reddit, forums, twitter, etc) and then share you content whenever you create it. I don't think people like it if you only try to self-promote your blog articles.
I also think there is also some value in "guest blogging" on other blogs, doing speaking engagements or podcast appearances, etc, etc, to gain more of a following.
Everything aside from organic Google search traffic takes some work.

As blog is brand new, I recommend to write regularly high quality posts. This is most important. Consistently is key. When you publish the post, then find the some distribution channel and be active there are well. Some of I recommend are
Facebook groups
Quora
LinkedIn groups
Reddit channels
On all these platforms don’t always promote, try to participate here and provide value through your content or your expertise skills.
If possible try to allot some budget for FB ads, it will also help in getting traffic.
Also take care of UI and UX of your blog and ask people to subscribe to your blog inside/end of the blog content

Are you talking about a personal blog? And what is your goal, to get email list subscribers to notify about a book launch?
There are lots of ways to promote a blog but I can't tell what you mean by "book blogger" in order to recommend the best way :)
The blog is a book review blog. And yes to get more email subscribers.
Ah. In that case I would target book review keywords and create some kind of incentive related to the review. Typically it's called a "lead magnet" or "content upgrade" or whatever. This is the "classic" build an email list approach. It takes a while but that's how you'd grow a list from organic search traffic. I have a couple email lists built this way.
Another option is to actually launch something via your email list as a product. Something like a PDF bundle of book reviews or something more creative, maybe packaged like "10 books in 10 minutes" where you provide a 1-minute readable summary of each book? Just some ideas.
You want to make people excited to sign up and get something from you. That's the key.
I recently did it the other way around where I launched a newsletter and then started to add a blog afterwards. If you go for treating the newsletter itself like a product, that could work for you too.

Right now, I'm only posting it on Twitter. I don't have analytics on it, so I may consider using a different platform in the future for that.
What if you just started out on Twitter? With no followers at all.
Start building a following by following/talking to other people. It's going to take time.
My Twitter following is probably 3/4 inactive. However, since I came back and started contributing to the community, I'm seeing a good increase in followers.
