How To Properly Generate Leads & Reach The $10k/month Milestone [2022]

So in this post, I'll be telling you what I used to go to $10k/mo with my first SaaS project, but also the downsides of the method. As well as this, this is a post open to AMA about lead generation and how I scaled this project.

But to start, how did I generate my business/clients?

1 Word: LinkedIn Sales Navigator

This tool is all you need to get more leads than God. I won’t go into the details of how it works, you can easily find this out by watching a youtube video.

But I will say that you need to target decision makers when you’re filtering your search. That’s CEOs, C-Levels, and Directors. That will vary depending on the size of the company. The larger the firm, the more difficult it’ll be to get the CEO to respond.

You can get a direct response from a CEO with companies that have between $1M to $5M a year in revenue.

That’s been my experience. LinkedIn Sales Navigator is about $80/mo/account.

However, if you don't want to pay this amount of money, and would prefer to bootstrap your way to success, there's still an alternative.

Which is: cheaper, and better...

With price being a barrier to my very first startup in the SaaS space, I've decided to now help IndieHackers scale for half the cost.

Price shouldn't be an issue, so my new SaaS project "Leadly" aims to combat that.

Currently thinking of setting the bar at a discounted $30/mo for all you guys!

LMK if you're interested, and I can answer any questions about LinkedIn's sales navigator, or my business's journey with lead gen.

Right from the first sentence, you say you'll explain how you got to $10k/month for your business.
And the whole explanation was use LinkedIn navigator ?

Very low effort just to pitch your new project bro.
You didn't even tell us what SaaS you built that generates 10k/month.

    Hey there,

    Great post!

There are a few things that I would recommend doing in order to generate leads effectively:

    1. Use social media platforms to your advantage. Make sure that you are active on platforms like Twitter, LinkedIn, and Facebook and that you are regularly sharing valuable content.

    2. Make use of content marketing. Creating blog posts, infographics, and other types of content that are valuable and relevant to your target audience can help you attract leads.

    3. Use lead capture forms on your website. Make sure that you have forms on your website that allow visitors to sign up for your email list or request more information about your products or services.

    4. Reach out to influencers. Connecting with influencers in your industry can help you reach a larger audience and generate more leads.

I agree with 2. Content marketing has been one of the best way to generate leads for me!

Hey alex, great contrubution to the post - will help a lot out 🙂

A fair amount of money is needed to really start getting those ideal contacts at your fingertips - which is why we’ve developed Leadly. Will be interesting to see what happens down the line!
