How to research if a market or similar products exist?

Downloadable, PDF product/service brochures that are customised for a specific person based on answers from a questionnaire.

So, for example, someone goes to a company website wanting info on a product, first they complete a small questionnaire and they get emailed (or download) a PDF brochure that is customised based on the answers they provided in the questionnaire - so the brochure only displays info relevant to their use-case, or has links to buy specific products etc.

I'm having trouble finding products that do something like this, or even if this is a thing that people use or need. When I Google for dynamic brochure or custom brochure I get flipbook style places that make those online brochures, or Canva style sites for brochure templates etc.

Reason I ask is that I developed a product that inadvertently does this, but it wasn't my intention for it to be used this way. I initially wrote it for financial advisers to create custom reports, client letters etc, but people are using it for this dynamic brochure style use-case. Now I'm trying to find out if this is an established industry or market and who does this now. I don't even know what keywords I would use to search for companies/products that do this.

I work in sales, and the idea of automatically generating a brochure that only shows what the client actually cares about is brilliant. It feels like the business version of Sprunki Retake , where you piece together different elements to create a unique result, just with content instead of music icons. You have definitely found a gap in the market that needs filling.

I would say you need to talk to potential buyers to see how they call such a tool :-)

I know that there are tools that use those kinds of surveys to customize marketing (but not marketing collateral like PDFs). The best example I know is https://bucket.io

But nothing will replace talking to other humans to figure out their needs and how they describe / search for them (instead of starting with your idea/existing product)

Awesome, thanks Nuro. A current customer is using us just like bucket, as a quiz funnel for their business. Only difference is we send the customer a personalised PDF after they complete the quiz.

Analyze potential customer base. Important statistics to attain consists of the population length of your target market, their product options and their median annual family profits. This will let you know the quantity of capacity clients and whether they can honestly find the money for the product. As I wanna do same strategy for my site https://cygnusmarketing.pk/

Ask your users now, what have they previously used, if anything. If they haven't used something before then you may have a lot of potential there, even if something already exists, as they have found - and are using - your product.
    Good luck.

Thanks ShortCipher. Yeah, I've been talking to and working closely with some customers who use our product this way and none of them had used a product before. They all did things ad-hoc with Word and Excel documents and manual processes.

I definitely want to talk to potential customers too, hence this post and trying to find out what other products might be called so I can find them.

To research if a market or similar products exist, you can use market research tools like Google Trends or Google Keyword Planner. You can also search for similar products on Amazon or other e-commerce sites. https://eazyresearch.com/services/statistics-homework-help

I would agree with @nuro here, talking with potential customers would be the best bet.

With that being said, it seems as if you've "stumbled" across this functionality within a project you're building. People typically work the other way around and start with the problem → solution, where you have done it backwards.

I would say to try and look at it from the 10,000 ft view. The key here is "personalized pdf"... This is definitely useful, but for who? empathize (create a hypothetical) with someone who would find this useful. Personalization is seeing a huge trend in how we market to people, maybe it's for marketers?

How do we get that personalization in the first place? the questionnaire.

Maybe you need to be focusing on the questionnaire aspect of the potential product that you've stumbled across.

All in all, I think the best thing to do here is open up the scope, not just to the product that has been born of your project, but think about what kind of problem this could solve for a certain type of person.

    Just my two cents...

Thanks, that's very useful. Searching for personalized pdf gave me some examples of sites that do similar things.

The traditional hierarchy of healthcare is flattening. Nurses are no longer just followers of medical orders; they are leaders of clinical teams. Nurse Leaders are now responsible for hospital operations, financial management, and quality control. By applying "systems thinking," they analyze how every part of a hospital—from the pharmacy to the janitorial staff—impacts the ultimate goal: patient recovery.
