I just joined indiehackers in order to respond to this thread:
https://www.indiehackers.com/forum/anyone-using-paddle-for-subscriptions-experiences-7d0c5fe4f6
but now that i'm logged in i see no "Reply" button.
i want people who find THAT post to be able to see my reply to it. I just finished integrating paddle in my mac and windows C++ application and have some knowledge to share. could you mark my account as trusted? i'm not interested in "points" (upvotes?). Thanks!
I blocked new accounts from commenting on very old threads, because 90% of them were from spammers. I might undo it soon when I finish some of the new anti-spam tools I've been working on.
In the meantime, I recommend creating a new post! Or if you wait at least 7 days and accrue 10+ upvotes, your account will be considered "trusted".
so how am i going to be able to contribute here if i'm banned from contributing? i think it's obvious that i'm not a spammer?
hi @csallen i'm wondering if you'd be willing to un-ban me, so i can reply to that post? when searching online for "paddle windows sdk" this is one of the threads that comes up. i've created a C++ wrapper for it, and i'd like to be able to say that in the comments, along with what experience i had in creating it. to wit: https://github.com/davecotter/PaddleCPP-Windows
You're not banned. It's not an individual user account thing. I'm not reviewing people one by one. It's actually built into the code for the website that, unless your account is 1 week old and has 10+ points, you can't comment on old discussions. That applies to everyone!
is there an article or help doc describing how one goes about getting "points" ? i'm just trying to contribute here, and it feels... a little harsh that i'm being excluded? i know it's not personal, i'm just saying that yeah spammers are jerks and you have to take measures, but i'm clearly not a spammer, and i've got something valuable to add. if you have a minute to reply to this thread, perhaps you have a minute to un-block me? and thanks, i know you're busy, and i appreciate that you've created this excellent forum :)
Again, you aren't blocked. This isn't an individual thing. It's built into the code and affects everyone equally.
Best way to get points is to dive into the forum, comment on recent posts to help others out, and they'll upvote you! You can also create posts of your own that others upvote.
oh, okay i was going off your initial comment "I blocked new accounts from commenting". well, thanks for responding.
Do you not see a comment box near the top, right below the initial post?
no. just "36 replies" and a "report" link
