How to retrieve Whatsapp & Messenger's data

hi guys,

Would you know if there is a possibility to retrieve the data (text messages) from my personal Whatsapp and my Facebook Messenger apps to collect it and store it somewhere ?

I think there is no API available and I don't know other ways. Scraping is an option that seems to chaotic and not respecting the TOS of these services anyway.
