Hello IH Community 🙌
In today's post, I would love to share how to review employee performance with a fun, interactive online survey.
🤔 1. WHY IS EMPLOYEE EVALUATION IMPORTANT?
An employee evaluation is much more than a simple performance review, it’s a way of understanding how you are performing as a manager. Employee evaluation is important as it lets you understand how well matched an employee is to that specific task and if they are having difficulties. Although these are typically used to formally review work quality and output, they are also there to help you think about how motivated or supported staff are or how realistic the workload is. This information should help you improve your management and provide insights into things like employee training plans or highlight areas in need of shaking up.
🤔 2. WHY DO AN EMPLOYEE EVALUATION?
Your employees are your company. If you don’t take care of them, you’ll end up with:
Taking genuine care of people means identifying and unblocking their problems, celebrating their successes, and asking what they’d like to achieve in the future.
Basically—having a meaningful conversation. When you turn this conversation into a clear, documented action plan, progress becomes easier to review.
Employees and managers then commit to achieving goals together.
🤔 3. WHY USE AN ONLINE EMPLOYEE EVALUATION FORM?
There is always the temptation to download an employee evaluation template in word or pdf and print it but there are a number of issues with this.
Firstly, this information is extremely sensitive, and having it on paper means it limits how you can share and store this information securely.
Secondly, employee analysis can be tricky, and having to scribble out written evaluations after you’ve reconsidered your score is a messy affair, keep it clean and go digital.
Finally, while printable employee performance evaluation samples seem like a convenient option, they will cost you a lot of time in the future. You may need to review these evaluations in a year, and you don’t want to be searching for the key to the locked filing cabinet.
The main benefit of using a digital or online evaluation form is the ease of access to information stored securely.
🔥 4. HOW TO WRITE AN EMPLOYEE EVALUATION FORM
Writing a good and fair evaluation is important as a manager but it’s also useful to get feedback from the employee. Have them do a self-assessment and compare this to your own analysis of their work, will let you see if you both align on what their professional development plan should be.
You can use our TypeSheet to Build Beautiful Forms and Surveys From, but any good employee evaluation form should contain information about:
Make sure the rating system is consistent throughout the form and is the same one you give to the employee, that way you can compare scores directly.
Recently I built my first SaaS product, TypeSheet that helps 😍 To Build Beautiful Forms and Surveys From Google Sheets 📗 ( Get 50% Off for Lifetime on All Plans. Use coupon Lifetime50Off )
🔥 In the last 26 days, I achieved $48 MRR 💵, You can follow my journey on Twitter: https://twitter.com/Aliboukaroui
Great idea to use Google Excel as a backend - but at this point what's the advantage of using this solution over something like Jotform or Typeform?
No, Google Sheet is not a backend, everything is stored in our servers. TypeSheet is just a new way to create surveys and forms from Google Sheet ( Replacing Google Forms ) and in the next months, everything will be in TypeSheet dashboard too 🔥
I agree. And the entry level plan is incredibly limited. Only 5 forms.
Big turn off for me when other apps offer unlimited forms
Hello,
Well, most competitors like Typeform offer for $29/Month :
If you have 5 Surveys, that's mean you can get 20 responses/survey lol which obviously very low so "Unlimited forms" here is a misleading word.
In TypeSheet we do the opposite: for $10/Month
👉 Plus we finished new features for the next update, none of the competitors have it and we also improved "Questions Logic" UX and major issues in all competitors logic.
⚡️ Basically in all competitors, if you switch between questions:
for example :
Q2 have 3 rules
Q3 have none
They broke all rules and conditions and keep order, but TypeSheet can track all questions rules, and conditions without breaking anything.
👉 One more simple improvement, All competitors allows you to create one " Other " option, but in TypeSheet you can create multiple " Other "options.
👉👉 We didn't share about TypeSheet a lot because we are focusing to solve really major or minor issues in other competitors and so far we did many things.
What is the point of having multiple ‘other’ options? Genuine question.
For example, you have a multi-option question:
" Which size of Starbuck coffee cup do you often drink most/least? (3: Most often, 2: Neutral, 1: Least often) "
A: Tall
B: Grande
C: Venti
