How to settle the first partner up?

I'm wondering if you can share your experience with your very first partnering up using Indie Hackers. How did it go? How did you set your partnership? Did you set it up contractually? If you could share any of your experiences, it would be very appreciated!

Both points make a lot of sense so thank you for sharing. The termination section is very interesting, what are the usual ways to terminate the contract for example? I'll definitely ask some lawyer to help me out but I'm really curious about this point.
