How to ship a side project over this weekend!

How to start? I often get this question from people who never shipped a project but always wanted to work on one. I guide them on where/how to start, the essential tools they need and why this method works.

This is a playbook I used when I started and I believe helps you ship a side project over a weekend!

  1. Pick an area where you have specific knowledge.

This is the most crucial step. You gotta love what you do so it better be something you enjoy doing at the same time make sure it provides value to others

  1. Pick a tool like Pory.io or table2site.com or sheet2site.com or Glide Apps or Carrd.co

These tools are easy to use, intuitive in design, and perfect to ship a side project.

  1. Learn Airtable or Google Sheets.

The tools above use these databases and it takes less than an hour to set up one. It is essential to know how databases work with UI and this will be your introduction to the back-end.

  1. Curate a list or a collection that is hand-picked by you.

Turn your specific knowledge into a list or a collection. There are so many ideas like:

  1. Share it with your friends or soft launch it on twitter.

When you put it outside, you will learn what mistakes you made, you get a chance to listen to the feedback. There is no better feeling than sharing your project with the world.

There you go! You can ship a side project over this weekend and if you do, let me know what it is. Happy to provide feedback!

If you like this playbook share it with people who need it or spread for reach. Thanks for reading 🙏🏽
