How to shut it down?

Hi, all content here seems to be around building an online business, but what about shutting it down? The truth is, since I lost my motivation to work on https://digester.app (in part caused by other changes in my life), I'm how to go about it?

In terms of product I have worked the equivalent of around 6months full time on digester and it is fully working in production (backend and frontend part). However it is not generating any revenue -- in fact, I don't even have a pricing, but I do have a couple dozens of users. So what do I do with it? Open source? Sell it on flippa? (I tried their chatbot to value digester and they said it's worth $2 :D).

And, perhaps more importantly, shall I do it at all? Has anybody else gone though something like this is willing to share?

If the monthly cost to run it are inexpensive, I would just keep it running as it is as @mronge said.

Maybe later you have the motivation again to work on it.

I kinda like the idea and I think if you polish a bit the UI and your marketing, I think people would be willing to pay for it.

See that's the problem: I am an engineer. It was fun as long as I could build "stuff". Now comes the hard part: iterate on it and market it to people. I think if there's one thing I've learned from this entire experience is that teaming up with another person would have been a very good idea.

Perhaps I should search for someone who wants to join?

I feel you. Market it to people is also the part for me where the fun often ends :-)

Yes, I would try to find one.

Is it expensive to keep running? If it isn't, I'd keep it up as a "portfolio" piece.

If it is too expensive to keep running, then I'd opt for open source as well.

It costs me about $50/mo. My thinking is that smoking would be more expensive, but at the same time it also seems like a wast of money.

    Well... good question!
I would probably Open Source it yeah. But that's my own point of view.
