How to start blogging about your project?

Hey all! One of the initiatives to market my project is the popular Content Marketing. I find the simplest way to start is with the company blog. The problem is that I'm having trouble with the "blogging" part. I hire a professional writer to start me off with some generic pieces, but that is really expensive for us right now. The other part is that we're always making changes to our product and briefing the writers is a pain.
I also believe that starting to write my own pieces is going to help me develop that area I'm not so good at. But I don't know where to start. Should I sell my product at all times? What if I don't sound like an expert in the field? How long should my articles be?
The other thing is that my project is in Transportation & Logistics, so my crowd isn't exactly very friendly.
Any advice on how to start?

If you don't sound like an expert in your field, write down what it would take to become one. Along the way, blog about everything you learn.

I'm just about to start blogging as well. I listened to a great podcast over on YC called "Don't start a blog, start a cult" about Mr. Money Moustache. It was great on many levels including how to start a blog that people will enjoy. I hope it helps!

Start with a post about your company. Who you are, your product, product goals.
