How to Streamline Your Landing Page Creation Process

We've streamlined a process for cranking out 100s of landing pages for SaaS businesses.

Keep in mind these are not suitable for a homepage and probably wouldn't be the best option for creating just a single landing page. The process works as sort of an assembly line for landing pages. So, you'd ideally target a higher volume of pages.

Here goes:

  1. Come up with a template that's easy to edit and works for your industry. Get
inspired by the examples of popular landing pages and use Figma/Miro to
create a reusable wireframe. Or, if you have a decent budget, get a UX/UI
    designer on board.

  2. Carry out preliminary SEO research to break down every feature, use case,
possibility, and comparison that people might search for. This gives an
idea of what landing page you can create. For example, the "Add image to
text" feature of your 'email marketing automation platform' could be one of
your first landing pages if there's enough volume and intent behind the
keyword. I'm using Ahrefs for this step, but any professional SEO tool should
    be good enough.

  3. Add all your research to a kanban board, separating each parent
topic/keyword into a separate ticket. Then, fill these tickets with outlines,
examples, competition, keywords, and marketing angles. Notion or Trello is a
good shout. Excel (or Excel-like) spreadsheets also work.

  4. Start writing and making Hero Images. Or outsource to copywriters and
designers. Or use a GPT-3 Ai and subscribe to Freepik. This step depends on
    your budget, time, and skill.

  5. Once they're ready, publish and promote on HackerNews, IndieHackers,
Reddit, Quora, and relevant communities. Avoid "mass marketing" tactics.
Especially avoid spamming your links on every platform under the sun.

  6. Assess feedback and optimize underperforming pages.

This strategy sits at the crossroads of Clayton Christensen's Jobs-to-be-done framework, SaaS industry, and additional MADX (our agency) tweaks.

You can do much more, but this process got several of our SaaS projects off the ground and into the stream of constant traffic, product improvement, and reliable revenue.

The landing page creation process involves outstanding UI/UX, hero images, and SEO-friendly content. Once everything is done, they should be careful while promoting them.

Hi, Caroline! Thank you for summing up the post. Yeah, that's it in a nutshell. I can dive deeper into each point in the next set of posts if that would be of interest?

I am glad you said this isn't applicable to "HOME" landing pages, this sounds like you're giving a recipe out for programmatic/SEO landing pages that are built by a backend with whatever data points you have?

The reason I say this is because I have reviewed hundreds of landing pages and I wouldn't say the above framework would work for a homepage: you have to talk about painpoints, benefits, re-assurances and trust on your homepage (..and if you are interested to see what exactly I am talking about here's a link to see for yourself)

      Hi, Orliesaurus!

Absolutely, the home page should be unique and somewhat broader than individual landing pages. The main idea behind the above process is to single out "high-volume" pain points and surgically create specific pages around them.

This provides an opportunity to tell a SaaS story without overwhelming the user.
