How to structure a beta program and get users 👨‍💻

Almost every time I cover a topic with @tilikang on Startup to Last, a useful framework emerges.

This week, we discussed how I might structure a beta program for a new app I'm launching this month in the health insurance space.

Here's the framework I walked away with. Let me know if there's something else that might help me with my launch. 🙏

✔️Decide if you're ready for a beta program.
*The minute you feel you can offer users something of value, you’re ready.

✔️Design your beta program.
*What are you trying to learn / test?
*Is a closed or open beta more appropriate?
*What the profile of your ideal beta user?
*How can you position the program to these beta users?
-What is your differentiating theme?
-What is your offer / value proposition?
*Should you / do you need to incentivize participation?

✔️Launch the program and recruit beta users.
*Where do the ideal beta users hang out?
*Can I find enough ideal beta users via my network?
*If not, how can I leverage other marketing channels?

✔️Execute the program.
*How can I make my beta users feel like they are part of the journey?
*What incentives can I offer?
*How can I build a one-to-one relationships?
*How can I improve the offering ?

That's a lot of stuff to execute! What tools do you use to manage all that?

Mostly just a phone, email, a spreadsheet, and a wait list form at the moment. I'm also using a Google Doc to answer a lot of these questions in one place.
