How to use LinkedIn to promote your SaaS?

LinkedIn is the place which most people are overlooking. They just think that it used by people who are looking for a job. So many people just abandoned it.

Once you start using you will find out that organic reach on LinkedIn is far more better than any other social media. I've 800 something connections on LinkedIn but most of my carousel posts gets over 2000 views. You should go heavy on them.

So today I'll share few ideas how you can use it promote your SaaS organically. This will include content ideas, how to make carousel posts & how to post it.

Let start

Ideas for LinkedIn carousel posts.

  • So you have a blog where you write content for your SaaS? Turn your each blogpost into a carousel post and post it on LinkedIn.
  • You must tweet a lot & have twitter threads? Turn your long Twitter threads into a carousel post & post it on LinkedIn.
  • If you run a podcast, turn each episode key takeaways into a carousel post.
  • If you have any sort of text content, turn it into carousel post.

How to make carousel posts at scale.

Here are few tools you can use to create carousel posts.

  • Contentdrips Carousel Maker ~ It's a web-app that is built for creating carousel posts for LinkedIn & IG. One cool thing is that I built it :).
  • Adobe Photoshop/Illustrator ~ I'm pretty sure you know about these already.
  • Canva ~ you know it too.

How to upload carousel posts on LinkedIn?

I was surprised that many people didn't even know about it. It's kinda confusing as well because of the LinkedIn UI. They also call it Documents upload.

So here is quick tutorial.

  • Open LinkedIn.
  • Click on Start a post.
  • A popup will appear. Click on document icon.
  • Upload your PDF. That's it.

I hope this will help some of you. Let me know in the comments below.

We will start using LinkedIn in the next weeks. But not sure what we will do because we don't have content so far. Do you have any experience or tips for us? Here is our website and product paperless.io

      Solid product!

First carousel can be just a product introduction. Do it on your personal profile I'll recommend that because you can tell a better story that way. You can create content on different use cases of your products for e.g that how sales or HR team can use it.

Keep in mind one blogpost can be be turned into a many pieces of content for many different social media channels. Just plan & distribute it wisely for each day.

Hi @usamakhalid, thank you for your post. Indeed, people tend to neglect Linkedin but I'm convinced that there is a great potential to target professionals.
We created an online tool to help developers better manage their daily tasks (www.keypup.io) and we pushed sponsored content with carousels. Surprisingly, carousels were less efficient than the video and did not have the results we wanted.

Did you mean you posted on your company page & gave it a paid push?
I tried posting few times on my company page, but response wasn't good.

In above post I'm referring to organic reach of it on a personal LinkedIn profile.

We built a paid campaign using carousels on our company page. I believe your advice can be applied to company pages as well?

@harrydry I've seen some Twitter threads been repurposed to Linkedin carousel. I'm not sure how he does it, but I'm convinced he does well.

      It's simple.

Create a nice looking first side (intro), then paste each tweet content into each slide & then in the last slide at a CTA. (link to the website, podcast etc)

What is a “carousel” post and why is it called like that?

      1. 1

You have a 'presentation' post in Linkedin. You scroll to the right and see the next 'slide'.
