This article was not partially created by AI. But could it have been?
The truth is, AI is here to stay. And like a lot of content marketers, I'm constantly looking for ways to leverage it to give my clients (primarily startups) a competitive advantage.
Here's how you can make some magic on a budget (with cold outreach industry examples):
Out with the generic SERP content and in with hard-to-find advice, fresh perspectives, and the fun stuff we've all forgotten in the last ten years.
Don't do this:
"Awesome cold email tips: Contact the right person, write a great subject line, show some personality."
This is neither awesome, nor fun.
Instead, do a wild take like this:
"LARP-ing isn't just for spicing up your love life. Try some roleplay in your cold emails. For example, you could pretend to be a detective, superhero, or the newest Targaryen contender for the Iron Throne."
I know we’ve been having a drawn-out love affair with the Skyscraper Technique, but let’s face it: you could do much better things with that budget.
Research the topic instead:
Typically, we love having a designated rep in our customers' companies to talk to. They're a source of absolute gems!
Experiment with videos and branch into social media. I have a really handy chart here explaining which content types work best for different networks (CTRL + F for "here's my quick cheatsheet"): https://blog.lowfruits.io/how-do-you-win-the-serps-in-a-world-where-writing-with-ai-is-a-commodity
TL;DR Start by repurposing content that did well for SEO.
Repurpose your content for forums, social media, and other channels. Don't just stick to SEO.
You can't afford to be generic anymore. Write as if you were really pi$$ed off, get snarky, inject some humor. Whatever works for you will work for a portion of your audience -- as long as you're not dry.
You can incorporate all of these into your standard AI-writing process! Simply have the tools create the first drafts, fact-check, add nuggets of value, and edit to sound like you.
You've got this -- I believe in you!
