Hey everyone,
I see a lot of Roast Me Landing Page posts on Indiehackers where the landing page is totally how it should not be.
Thought I'd do a small post here for founders who're trying to write theirs
Your title and subtitle will decide 80% of the conversion
Focus on the benefit there and the transformation.
You're not "automating their tasks", you're "saving them time".
You're not "increasing their exposure", you're "helping them find a job"
Add a simple title And in the subtitle add "how you do it"
If you have a social proof, add that too - like -
"Used by 100+ software devs"
Let's say you're done with your "above the fold" copy.
They scroll down and you want to show your features.
Don't put the heading of the features, instead put the pain point or benefits.
For example
"Autoplug"
"Retweet booster"
"Engagement builder"
Will mean nothing to you.
But
"Add subscribers from a viral tweet"
"Make sure your tweet reaches the globe"
"Engage with 40 people in under 10 minutes"
Means something to you even if you don't know the product or what I'm talking about.
That's the difference.
Don't use words like
Supercharge
Exposure
Extrapolate
Use simple words. Simple 6th grade english.
You have 5 seconds to be read. Do you really think they're using their whole attention on reading?
Nope
They're skimming.
Do not start with "We made __ to help you step into power"
No.
Use "you" more often.
"You can save 50 hrs/week if you use this"
Across the websites, you might have buttons.
Send them to ONE place only
Don't have
Book a demo
Sign Up for app
Email me
Buttons altogether.
Your viewer does not have enough bandwidth to make a decision out of 3. Make it simple.
Only one CTA throughout the website.
Even if you don't have customers, add experiences.
Add how many hours it saved you
Add how many people have tried and been happy.
Add some research or news headlines that shows they need your product.
Your general flow should look like this
Title
Subtitle
CTA
Pain points
Features/Benefits
CTA
Social proof
Features/Benefits
Don't add the about us on this page. This page is only for conversion. It should only focus on how you want to help your viewer.
That's it.
What you think about my copy here: rippedrich.com
I like the whole page. The headline is nice too "Get inspired by the fit and wealthy,
we hunt the stories of individuals who have achieved both.
sent to your inbox weekly."
But then it's giving me the feeling that I can only get inspired by this. Not anything else. Just motivation dopamine.
Why not say that you 'share stories of individuals who're fit and healthy and HOW they did it'
That'll bring some actionable twist into it.
You can go with something like this
"Discover the Secrets of the Fit and Wealthy: Get the Inspiring Stories of Individuals Who've Achieved Both Right in your Inbox!"
Legend!! Thanks so much :D I did some changes based on your feedback
Hey, thanks for sharing - this is immensely helpful!
