Laura Piraux is the co-founder of Slap, a lightweight support tool that lets teams manage email conversations inside Notion. She built it alongside her partner - professionally and personally - Simon Lejeune. Originally from Belgium, the duo now lives near Lisbon.
Slap began as a side project. Having worked with many startups, Laura (product) and Simon (engineering) wanted to challenge themselves by launching their own product. They aimed to improve their skills, stay lean, and avoid wasting time building features no one wanted.
Their idea: turn Notion into a support platform. With Slap, emails (via Gmail) appear as tickets in Notion. Users can assign them, track status, and reply - all without leaving the workspace. It’s perfect for small teams already living in Notion.
Launched in late 2024, Slap gained early traction through Reddit, cold outreach, and Notion communities. Still, marketing remains their biggest hurdle - neither founder had an existing audience. But that’s part of the journey: learning to sell, not just build.
Now with 500 signups, 20 paid customers, and thousands of synced emails weekly, they’re steadily growing - and preparing to add Outlook support next.
