How valuable are your Twitter audience?

I'm curious to know what value do you see in your Twitter followers apart from the fact that it brings awareness and engagement from social media to your website or product/services page.
Do you monetize your twitter audience by sharing your newsletters there and get paid by sponsors or promote other companies/blogs there? Is there any monetary value you see in having a decent enough twitter audience like 1k or 2k followers...
Just to help quantify the value, I just sold almost $100K worth of PDFs and videos over Twitter, in less than 4 months. I started building an audience 14 months ago, just after I left my job to work for myself. Since then I've been sharing my self-employment journey on Twitter, and now I have a following of 25K.
In these 14 months, my tweets got viewed 35M times and had 1.7M clicks. Imagine how much you'd have to pay Google or Facebook to get that amount of clicks. Probably $500K to $2M?
If someone were to offer me $500K in exchange of my Twitter account, I definitely wouldn't take it. $1M, maybe I'll think about it. So I'd say that's how much I value it.

I consider my Twitter audience to be the most valuable thing I have. It has been my #1 source of Traffic to my product (Divjoy) and led to a lot of really great connections/friendships.
You can't really correlate audience size to value. A couple hundred followers in the right niche can be better than having 100k random followers. At the end of the day, you need to build something good that your followers love and spread the word about.

Most people I know use Gumroad to monetize their account. They create info products explaining people how to:
Etc. etc.
Basically creators are teaching others to become creators themselves. In any way shape or form.
The amount of knowledge that's being sold is massive.
It's a totally different world compared to Google's search result pages. If you want to rank high on Google you have to spend years building a website that attracts links from authoritative website. Giving away tons of value, for free.
On Twitter you also give away a lot of value, but you can monetize your time spent a lot quicker. As @dvassallo mentioned he grew his account extremely fast.
Good ideas spread fast on Twitter and you can grow your audience very fast. There's also almost no cap to how many people can view your content.
On Google when you search for a book you won't find any video's because you weren't looking for one (simplifying this).
But on Twitter you're not looking for something. Good Tweets just float up and reach you. If you're the creator of good tweets your Twitter account is a massive asset.

My twitter is not valuable at all so I cannot comment in that regard, but I have other places with large audiences. Any platform where you have a significant reach is priceless IMO and it will become clear when you hit those numbers. If you are going to take over the world from your home, you gotta be able to reach people. How you do it may vary (different products are better suited for different outlets), but you need to have that reach somehow somewhere.

There are people making serious money on Twitter, I'm talking 7-figure income, off an audience of 20-30k followers.
Twitter is no joke.
And Twitter is the main source of traffic (and revenue) for my startup, Zlappo (well, naturally).
I have more than 4k and it's worthless because I obtain it by gaming the system. I since then stopped and I thought my audience was going to drop to nothing, but they stayed. Bots? dead accounts? People still trying to game Twitter?
You don’t have an audience. You have a high follower counter. An audience means people looking forward to hear what you have to say.

What did you do? Follow-for-follow?
Yes. You follow people, some follow you back, those that don't, you unfollow them. It's not possible anymore, but it was an easy way to increase your follow-base at a steady rate. And if you selected who to follow, you could actually have a set of followers that wasn't a total disaster.
I did this with one account and it lead to really low quality content, bots etc. I would not recommend this strategy! If you want to try, setup some test account and try it so you don't ruin your regular.
To be fair, the account is not ruined, it just has a lot of followers that don't matter. It's usable.
Not only is it usable, it's a good start (just manually unfollow most people to get a good follow ratio).
Then start doing things right.
