How we are redefining the music industry, one NFT at a time

Hello everyone, this is our first post here on Indie Hackers, but we are super excited to share what we are building. Meet creatorpass.net (yes we are fixing the mobile site), a consulting business to help music artists launch NFT collections for their fanbase.

These NFTs act as keys for fans to unlock exclusive sections of the artist’s website and access special products and services offered by the artist. This pay to unlock content model helps increase artist brand profitability through the NFT mint and sales on the special products/services. This is especially important for smaller artists looking to take their careers full-time but will struggle financially.

For the future, we are working to create a rewards system where people who spend the most on the artist’s products accrue points and are rewarded with even more exclusive and special experiences(backstage passes as an example). We plan to post weekly updates as we continue building this, any comments or questions are greatly appreciated and I’ll do my best to respond to all of them!

If CreatorPass is something that is interesting to you, please consider joining our discord to ask questions and follow updates. https://discord.gg/YMN75z4bju

What do you like about NFTs?

Good question! As opposed to a traditional email and password account we found that NFTs were a better fit. As an example, let’s say a fan holds a pass for a year, buys some merch and such and decides they no longer want to use it anymore. They can sell the NFT to recoup the money that they originally spent and spend it on another artist’s CreatorPass. From that sale from one fan to another, the artist makes a small royalty that adds to the brand profitability and can go back to providing more for the fans.

Chainsmokers even share royalties with their NFT holders!

Hey, may I ask how did you implement the connect with wallet sign-in method?

    1. 1

Essentially, we leveraged some web3 frameworks that are available online. Using that we were able to incorporate it into our blockchain application. Something you might want to check out if you’re interested in setting up crypto payments and sign ins is https://www.rainbowkit.com/ something we are considering incorporating for our own project.

So you used ethers or web3.js? I’m asking because the modal that appears after clicking connect with wallet seems identical to others on other websites, so I thought it might be a service I didn’t know. Yeah, I know about rainbow’s solution, but I look better into it now that you mentioned it.

We used web3.js. For the most part most websites have similar functions to run their connect wallet and a lot of people have published code to set something like it up pretty easily. Rainbow's solution is pretty nice and easy and something we might put up for a mobile app or something in the future.
