How we did after launching Early Access

This is my first week building Clap in public and we've already learned a lot. I want to warn that I'm normally an engineer and marketing is not my thing, but I'm learning. We launched early access for Clap on February 8th to IndieHackers and targeted a few other channels.

Strategy

Early on I've decided to market Clap through my personal brand. Besides the benefits of building a strong personal brand, I want to build a strong relationship with early adopters to help us improve the product and learn how we can provide the best service possible.

I'm generally writing content around one topic and learning to reformat it for how the audience consumes content on that platform.

The first week was solid start; it helped to get our toes wet and gave us time to create a process for early access customers.

Results

👋🏽 # of site visits - 658
🤝 # of leads gained - 6
Unexpected - 1 person asked me to speak to their students (which was really cool and I'm honored to do it)

I'm happy with how the first week turned out but I quickly felt the effects the following days when engagement dropped off completely. I’m going to continue to learn and experiment on the types of content that builds trust and creates leads in the coming weeks.
