This is great information which would definitely be useful to help get around the dislike of promoting on certain platforms. Would definitely recommend this to anyone looking to gain some form of traction even before they even launch their product!

    @BoredToDeath this was very helpful!

"In some groups, I didn’t include the URL in the question; sometimes I’d add it later in the comment thread, especially if people asked questions about the company."

    love this approach.

Good stuff! Interesting to see what's their conversion rate?

    1. 1

We don't have metrics on that yet! But our open rate is 53%, click rate is 5%.

Hi, I think everyone has heard of business marketing, so this is very cool service that allows you to buy Gmail account https://get-accs.com/gmail-accounts/ , a very cool site where you can find many different and more important - safe accounts that you can buy with no problem at a very good price. Good day!

Are they legal? Do you have a grate experience with them?

      1. 1

Hi! Yes, its legal. I was buying gmail account. And they also have support and they answer for all answer and also can recommend

How would you approach this for a product that is already launched but we still need to build an emailing list?

    1. 1

Lots of different ways. Free trials, discounts, ebooks, etc. etc.

It's a lot of work though. The question is, do you really need an email list right now? Your goal is to generate revenue and you don't need an email list to do that.

As an update -- we just hit 3,000 subs yesterday. Growth feels slow, but it IS steady and our list is top-quality: https://www.indiehackers.com/product/they-got-acquired/hit-3-000-email-subscribers--NBjNZepGXdkGgvICv-K

This is amazing, Thank you very much.

Yes, very cool, I often see that this is used not only in the Internet industry, but also on the open spaces of eSports. I recently read an interesting article about https://mylearninghub.com/products/lms and I want to say that it is quite informative. But everyone perceives everything differently :))

This is very useful, especially the communities list including Micro Conf, Tilt, Rhodium etc. I've been searching for those in order to improve my idea validation. All the best to you!

    Nice share!

This is a nice playbook for anyone wanting to build an audience before a product launch.

I just joined the Tilt discord, and Carrd looks like a neat little tool too.

Interesting read. Would be nice to hear about someone who has tried a similar approach but without the twitter following and without previous street-cred.

This looks really cool. Anyone have any invite codes for Kern.al? That looks like such a great site!

    1. 1

DM me with your email and I'll see if I can get you in!

      1. 1

You rock! Just DMed you on Twitter!

For a week now, I've been trying to come up with a working method to gather emails before launch and honestly I've had little progress. Your article is a life saver. Thank you.

Nice work! How long did it take from launch (LP live) -> 1k subs?

    1. 1

It was about 10 months, I believe!

  17. 1

This is really helpful thanks for sharing!

This is really insightful. If it was me I would just run a sponsored post on Twitter, IG and FB offering a gift for signups. Viola l, I always get tons of sign-ups after this.

  19. 1

Thank you for the detailed insight into how much work goes behind getting people to sign-up!

  20. 1

Wow! You did a lot. Shows how much you need to network and promote to get people interested - not saying that in a negative way - just saying that it does take hard work. Thanks for the insights and well done getting to where you are.

    1. 1

It really does take a lot of work. I keep thinking we'll hit a "winner" tactic we can lean into, one way that works better than all the rest... but so far it's just a little bit of all kinds of content marketing and networking that's working.

Interesting post. I always worry that early subscribers aren't worth the effort because how do you keep them interested up to the point you launch your product/service? But you've listed some great ways to keep subscribers engaged. Thanks for the tips.

    1. 1

Early subscribers are absolutely worth it! They are the most invested =) Just keep them updated until launch, so they continue to care what you're up to.
