How we KYC over 3000 people from 57 countries thx to Reddit and one toxic post!

This is just a simple story — and I’m not even sure if anyone will read or comment on it. But when I joined this new community, I thought: why not share it anyway?

It all started when I was traveling in Thailand. Every time I withdrew cash from an ATM, I was hit with a 220 THB fee — that’s about 10 AUD. And on top of that, there were hidden charges. It drove me crazy.

That frustration turned into a mission: why not build something better?
That’s how the JamJang app was born — an idea to help travelers avoid unnecessary fees and pay like locals.

Soon after launching, we realized we were onto something big. A few copycats even popped up, which only confirmed that we had touched a real pain point.

As we grew, we knew the app needed a major upgrade. That’s when we decided to redesign it completely and give it a new name — WAIWIN — a fresh, global brand starting from Thailand.

To our surprise, users quickly fell in love with the new version. The app became stronger, faster, and more intuitive.

Then something interesting happened.

There was one toxic user who kept trying to sabotage us. They started posting comments online saying “JamJang is a scam.” At first, I thought this was bad — really bad.

But then, something incredible happened.

Our community stood up for us.
Users jumped in to share their own positive experiences with the app. They told others how much they trusted us and how the app had helped them. Eventually, the original poster started deleting his own negative comments.

That’s when I realized something powerful:
Even bad publicity can turn into good — when you’ve built real trust with real people.

This is just the beginning of our story.
We’re not here to “disrupt” for the sake of it.
We’re here to make traveling easier, fairer, and more human — starting with how we pay.
